Race Week 2004

Oak Harbor Marina hosts a sailboat race every year, and has been doing so for about 20 yrs now.  The forst one was fun, but no one expected as many boats to show up as did.  100's of them!!!  SO they planned better for the next years, and now it is a world class event, and boats from all over the planet come to race, get drunk and PARTY!!!

Some years it rains, some years it is too windy, some years the is NO wind.  This year is just perfect, and they are all in Penn Cove racing their little hulls off.  Their SPINACKERS  were out and colorful today.  (I called them jibs the other day...my bad!)

And right across the cove is the teeny tiny town of Coupeville, where I live now.

and more boats........

It is pushing 100 degrees out there right now, and we dont get this kind of heat.   No cooking tonite!!!!
I already told Bob, I could pop a ready to bake pizza in the oven, but we were sitting on the deck to eat it.  Too hot in here.
