How to Shower Like a Woman
1. Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry hamper according to lights and darks.
2. Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas
3. Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups
4. Get in the shower. Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah, wide loofah, and pumice stone.
5. Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins.
6. Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean.
7. Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner enhanced with natural avocado oil. Leave on hair for 15 minutes.
8. Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red.
9. Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash.
10. Rinse conditioner off hair.
11. Shave armpits and legs.
12. Turn off shower.
13. Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower. Spray mold spots with Tilex.
14. Get out of shower. Dry with towel the size of a small country. Wrap hair in super absorbent towel.
15. Check entire body for zits, tweeze hairs.
16. Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head.

7. Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off.
8. Make fart noises (real or artificial) and laugh at how loud they sound in the shower.
9. Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area.
10. Wash your butt, leaving those coarse butt hairs stuck on the soap.
11. Shampoo your hair.
12. Make a Shampoo Mohawk.
13. Pee.
14. Rinse soap off ansd get out of shower.
15. Partially dry off. Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of tub the whole time.
16. Admire wiener size in mirror again.
17. Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on.
18. Return to bedroom with towel around your waist. If you pass wife, pull off towel, shake wiener at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again.
19. Throw wet towel on bed.

Something must be happening weather wise...or should I say ABOUT to happen? The birds are fluttering around the feeders in numbers that I haven't seen in awhile. Last time was just before a big storm. Do they know something We don't?
The Goldfinch are starting their morphing already also, the males are starting to get bright yellow splotches on their heads. The females are a bright olive green . Chitters is sitting thedre in the window trying like hell to get them, and they are teasing him like mad!! They even are clinging to the window screen while he bats and scratches at the window.
I LOVE teasing my cats like that. Gives them excersise and keeps the birds safe!

Finished
Well I THINK I am finished...I think. See anything that you thinks needs to be different? I cant figure out how to change the title. I wanted to make it bigger and fancier. But guess I'll just have to stick with the way it is!!! Took me all morning long to figure out where the banner was. It was still maroon, and I wanted it yellow and blue. I finally picked some weird color, changed a number and then peeked until I found the right area, then changed it to the right color!! So how'd I do with absolutely NO TRAINING?
Now I have to remember what it is I did and where I did it to, so I can change it again someday.

Lord of the Rings, Return of the King
Jesus H. Christ in a rowboat!!! Talk about a marathon movie!!!! I still have so many questions, Elves, Dwarfs, orks, dead dudes, men, Mastadons, hobbits, trolls, and good GOD a TON of horses!!! how did they get that many horses in New Zealand!! It was so loud it hurt my ears, and 4 freaking hours for a movie is waaaaay too long. I enjoyed it, but I wish to hell I could figure it all out. Dude dies, dude comes back to life. HUH? and none of the Elves had on little red hats and green tights!! They must have had to search the world for all of that Armour too!! Guess I'll wait until the videos come out and rent them all and watch them all at once. Maybe I'll get it then!
SAdie bug is so much better tonite. She still wants her Mommie though, and licks her tummy a lot, but she is doing fine. She still leaps off the porch though, and I cant get her to hold still enough to take her down the stairs myself. I need both hands for the stairs with this knee. She has her squeeky baby and is laying on her pillow right there, waiting for me to go to bed. Guess I'd better huh?

Poor Baby....
Sadie has an Owie!!! She got Spade today, and has a hole in her tummy! I left her off at 9:00 this morning and picked her up at 3:00. She was so happy to see me, but she definately was not feeling her best. She laid on the exam table, and wagged her tail slowly, licked my hand, and peed all over it. (the table, Kat) I took her home, with instructions to keep her calm and dont let her jump or run. OH SWELL!! That's all she ever does!
I put her in her pen to let her sleep, and she laid there shivering. I keep a cold house anyway, but she was kinda shocky I thought, so I got her and pulled her into bed with me turned on the electric blanket shoved her under the covers and just laid there watching tv and holding her until she got warm. She slept about 3 hours, I slept about 1. She woke up and I took her outside and put her on the porch, which she immediately LEAPED off of. Not a good thing. She whimpered and sat down and did not move!! I went back in and got my slippers on, and then walked her all over the back yard until she went pottie.
I had to pick jer up and bring her back in. Right now she is sleeping right over there on a messed up throw rug. Not too far from me. She has not eaten yet, and is sleeping much easier. I hate it when my babies hurt! With the boys it is just a tiny little snip, snip and its all over, (even though THEY think it is major surgery) but with the girls it is Major cutting and moving their insides around and cutting out the spare parts, then stitching from the inside out. Not fun. She will get better in a few days, but I will spoil her until she is....I'm just that way...

SHORN!!
After numerous years of letting my hair grow, and letting it grow out so there is no more color in it, I had it all cut off!! I needed a new look, and I may regret this later, but right now, it is short and feels good. It is about 3 inches long all over. I wanted a blow and go look, and I got it. It's cute, and now it is only two colors, grey and brown instead of 14 different colors from the sun and the perm and mother nature. Just a touch of curl around the face, the rest is straight. I have no curl naturally, and I have really coarse hair so it just falls forward and lays there. I can get up and shower, gel, and go. Whoo-who!! Since I have absolutely nothing planned for the next few months, I can look as casual as I want to.
Stayed home from the play today with the knee. When I got up this morning, I could not even stand on it. SO...rubbed gel into it and kept it up most of the day. It feels better now. At least I can get across the room without stumbling. I will go and tell the Dr I want it fixed NOW! I want to get out and walk, and explore! I want to try and get some of this weight off, and try to get off of insulin. Maybe I won't but I wanna.
Sadie bug goes in tomorrow morning for her "operation" She is so tiny still, and such a sweetie, I don't want her to hurt!! I also don't know how I am going to keep her still until it heals!! She never walks, she runs, ANd use the steps? Nah, LEAP from the top of the porch to the ground. SHe wears me out just watching her. She even jumps on the top of the couch and onto the floor!! She thinks she's a cat!!! ANyway, I am worried, as any Mommie would be when their baby gets a hole cut into her tummy and her parts removed! And Stitches!!! Poor baby!! No dinner from now on, and nothing to drink after Midnite. :-(
She is cutting molars right now, and chewing an anything she can find. MAinly the log tote! LOVES IT!! Must be the musty smell of rotting wood that turns her on. She has chewed the back off of my sheepskin slippers! (UGGS) and was heading for my daughters Clarks when I stopped her. Guess we gotta keep them all tied to the roof for awhile...

Storm Warnings
We had winds last night over 70MPH I was awake most of the night listening to them. The wind chimes were tinkling like mad, Even the ones out front were chiming away. Leslie would have gone nuts, I love listening to them. About 4:00 I heard a CRRRRAAAAAAACCCCKKKKKK CRASH! One of the alders out back broke the top off and it hit another tree on the way down. FOrtunately they both were in the woods so no harm was done to property.
THis morning I got up early to take Sadie in for her haircut and heard that the Bridge was closed. Hiway 20 goes over a two lane 200' foot high bridge that hooks two Islands together, It is the MAIN way on and off the Island. A 70+ MPH Gust hit a 40' Semi full of furniture, and crashed it into the guard rail, and since it was so windy, they could not get it righted for 8 hours until the wind died down.
That is the first time in memory that a semi has crashed on the bridge. He is soooo lucky, the waters below and VERY DEEP and SWIFT Moving, and no one survives the waters much less the fall.
Right now it is calm between storms, stars out amongst the clouds and COLD. The air smells so fresh and clean after the heavy cleansing rain we had yesterday. Even the birds were rejoicing in the freshness. I noticed As I was fillling the feeders that the tulips are popping up about 2" so spring can't be too far behind. I wish I had gotten my Daffodils planted like I wanted to last Fall. Ah well there is always next Fall, or the one after that...

Any body got a quarter?
Actually I am looking for an Arkansas quarter. I have all of the 2003 quarters except for Arkansas!! They used to be easy to find. When a new one would come out The bank would send us some in our 100,000 change fund for the store. So when one showed up in our till, we would ask who needed one, and sell it. Well I have had a dickens of a time getting any quarters out of these animals around here. So I need an Arkansas QUarter and then I can move on to 2004 and start collecting them. Then I will be on the lookout for Michigan. That one is due out right now. I only collect 1 of each state. I put them in this giant cardboard map I have. punch out the cardboard quarter and put in the real one. They will be worth something in a few years....25 cents!!! I need to get a Sacagawea dollar too. I had one but it is gone now...
I also am going to get a wall map of the world and post it on my door, in my office and pin where all my blog friends are at. I thought about printing out the bravenet map, but I want a big one anyway, so I will head for Barnes and Noble and get a good quality fiber one, so I can pin actual cities.
Haven't seen any of the new funny money yet either. The colored bills. Have you?

Moby...
I get all caught up in my high maintenance animals, Sadie, Bandit, Chitters, Ethyl, Lint, Loki and Bea Bunny But I have NOT posted about the least trouble of them all. MOBY!!! My Beta. He comes up top to visit when I tap on the bowl, and when ever the light comes on. I just have to remember to get filtered water for him every month or so, or his three story condo becomes a basement flat. Can't use water out of the faucet because the clourine is not good for him. I have no idea how long these fish last, but I have had him for 2 years now. and he is still looking good. 3 pellets twice a week is all he gets, and he lives on the algae in the bowl. If I put a picture of another Bets up to his bowl he freaks!!! puffs up his gills and attacks the bowl!! LOLOLOLOL Silly fish. Loki loves to sit on the table and just stare at him...so I had to move him to hte bookcase where there is no room for Loki. Pity. They kept each other company...
Where is the world is ....LOLA?
I have not seen Lola now for almost a month! I can't believe that the critters got all the squirrels...:-( They do not hibernate, but they don't like cold weather, so maybe they are all snug in a hole in a tree, waiting for spring, scarfing down all those peanuts they stashed this Fall. I am out of black oil sunflower too. I put peanut hearts out in the feeder, and cracked corn. The doves are happy as...Doves! And I have a lady Downey woodpecker at the suet feeder. The juncoes and the finches and chickadees are still hanging around but no pidgeons, no pine siskins, no goldfinches, and as yet no hummigbirds, although it is still a bit early for them. Last year I hung 1 feeder out on Feb 28 and had a hit right away. I will get them out tomorrow and see how long it takes to get hit.
I will have to brave the car and the steps and get into to Farmers Co-op for 50# of sunflower seeds, 50# of flyers choice bird seed, and 10 # of chick feed and millet. Then I will be ready for spring! I hear a bird I have never heard before, and I can not replicate it, I think it is a warbler, but since I cant see it I cant be sure. I have had a tiny greenish yellow bird come to the niger feeder, and I can't identify that either. It has a darkish green rump and lighter belly and a white ring around its eye, and is olive greenish yellow with a beak that looks like a pin. Narrow and thin. ??????
Bill? Leslie? Phyllis got me a membership in the local Audubon club, so after the show closes I will have to start attending meetings and learn more.
I certainly hope that Sadie hasn't chased Lola away permanently! I will try moving some feeder stuff over to the deck poles and see if that might help. Sadie can still bark at them, but not reach them at all, and there is plenty of cover too.
Well I need to go back and prop up the ol' knee and take another motrin. No more pain killers for me...Made me sickern shit! Don't like that feeling at ALL. Think I will fix a glass of cornbread and milk...CJ want some? YUMMY!!!

Monday blahs!
I came home from the playhouse yesterday, and wrapped my knee. It is hurtung so bad! I can barely walk anymore. I know that walking up and down the stairs at the Playhouse has to be irritating it. I left just before the second act ended. (I am expecting a total sell out now that the word is getting around! I wish you all could see the show. It is so good.) I dug out the pain killers and started popping them every 4 hours. I woke up this morning with a horrible headache, and an upset tummy. I came in here to blog and almost lost it! So back to bed I went, Gulping fresh air and sipping cold water. Managed to keep the water down, so I put the pain killers away. I just slugged in bed all day. watched a little tv and read a lot of book. My knee is burning like it is on fire. I do not remember pulling anything lately, but I know I do have a tear in my something or other tendon.Just to the left of the Right Kneecap. Hurts like friggin HELL!!
It is so funny...when I am not feeling well, ALL of the animals are in bed with me. sometimes even Bea...Ethyl is on top of me, Loki beside me on the right, Lint beside me by my legs, Sadie whereever she can find room, and Chitters is either in the window above my head, or sharing my pillow with me. It is a load of fun trying to turn over when you are pinned down by animals!! AND a knee that shoots horrible pains into you everytime you move it.
I finally feel good enough to eat some Tomatoe bisque soup and toast, so Hopefully the pain killers have worked their way out of my system. YUCK! I hate that "I drank way too much alcohol" feeling especially since I rarely drink. Vertigo I guess they call it...
I am still trying to figure out why my blog does not allow you to go clear to the bottom. I have deleted bravenet counter, nope, I put bravenet counter way on the bottom...nope. I left a big gap between it and the rest nope. HELP!!! I dont know where to look now. WOuldnt know what to look for even if I did know where to look. I'm still learning this geek stuff.
Sadie wants in, so gonna go back to bed...See ya in the morning...

I looked again, and there with her head stuck through the leg of my underpants was Sadie, Looking very pleased with herself...I forgot I had sorted the wash before I left for the show.

Opening Night
WHata RUSH!!! Opening night was fabulous. The town is definately talking about this show!!! We had 4 ministers in the Buy-out show for Habitats for Humanity on Thursday, and they LOVED it. Last night one person said that his pastor recommended the show to him, so He came. He had seen it twice before back east, but this one far surpassed anything else he has seen!! wow!!
One of our main characters Karol, who is also our Choreographer Lost her Mother last night during the performance. So she will finish tonite and tomorrow, rush down to Texas to the Funeral and then be back for thusday nights show. That is so hard!! We knew her mom was not doing well and probably would not make it. She was very emotional during the cruxifiction scene, but it worked. What a trouper.
The house was almost sold out last night, and at the end there was a spontaneous standing ovation! I was floored!! THe cast was thrilled, and the Audience wanted to stay and chat all night with the cast. Unfortunately we had a cast party after the show, so that was late getting started. It was 13 miles out of town, in the woods, and it was really foggy. So here are twelve cars driving through the woods in the fog trying to find addresses on mailboxes that we could not see. Finally got to the party, and there were more people there than there were in the cast!! 1/2 of them I had never seen before.
Party was still going as I left about 12:30, but since I live 20 miles from town in the OTHER direction, I needed to get home before the snow started. I got home around 1:15, read a few blogs and hit the sack. I was drained!!! the Adrenalin rush had depleted my resources, and I needed to get those batteries recharged. I slept for about 6 hours and woke up ready for another night of Directing...LOVE IT!

Every Morning when I wake up, the first thought is Bathroom, then I let Sadie out, and head for the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. I have gotten to the point that I want my coffee HOT and STRONG!! I have switched to French Roast and Love it. It is so full bodied, and smells soooo good. I must have 50 coffee mugs in my house, but I use only 4 of them. About 12 years ago, I bought 5 Laurel Burch coffee mugs, that hold about 16 oz of coffee. The handle allows 3 fingers comfortably into it. Feels just RIGHT! Not many feel that way. When I get to the cupboard and discover that all of my favorites are in the dishwasher and DIRTY, I growl. I have no idea why, I just do. I guess I am a creature of habit, and hate to use a different style of mug. I have been looking ever since then for more of the Laurel Burch mugs, but I can't find the right ones. There are a lot of them out there, but they are not what I am looking for. I want the same style I have, short, straight, big handle, and pretty. alas.....I have to make sure I run the dishwasher every four days or so...Pity.

Rockin' the gospel

Prepare ye to be entertained. Whidbey Playhouse’s performance of “Godspell” is two hours of joyous celebration of the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
If you’ve been to Bible school, you know the plot. In this 1970s era version Jesus wears a Superman T-shirt, and the flower children-like disciples sport a rainbow of colorful costumes. In between songs Jesus alternately cajoles and chastises his followers, deftly weaving in familiar parables and psalms.
Mary Lou Chandler, in her directorial debut, along with Rusty Hendrix, has assembled an impressive cast for this upbeat musical, but it almost took a miracle.
The parts were cast and rehearsals began in November, but they still had no Jesus, which is of course, the main part. Chandler said she even considered casting a female in the role, as far more women than men auditioned for any of the 11 roles.
“I thought, ‘Is Oak Harbor ready for a female Jesus?’”
Then, rehearsals were interrupted by a fire in the light booth, and working around the Nutcracker production December.
“It was one challenge after another,” Chandler said.
One month into rehearsals, Fernando Duran answered Chandler’s prayers, and took the role of Jesus.
Duran is a professional actor who divides his time between his two loves — Hollywood and his family in Oak Harbor.
Duran said he was at first reluctant to take the role, having just performed two musicals. He told Chandler that if she couldn’t find anyone for the role, he would do it, but he was going to Arizona and wouldn’t be back until well after rehearsals started.
When he returned the role was waiting for him, and Chandler said he has fit right in with the cast.
“It just jelled the first night,” she said. “He was the catalyst that brought it all together.”
The role of Jesus requires both a strong singing voice, and a strong sense of religious conviction.
Duran has both, and preaches to his followers like he really means it. And he does.
He is a member of Living Word Church, and said he became a Christian at 13.
“Playing the role of Jesus is awesome,” he said. “I feel like God has given me a gift for acting, and now I’m giving back.”
Duran plays the charismatic leader well, and his disciples reflect their adoration in song, dance and celebration.
“Godspell,” by John Tebelak and Stephen Schwartz, was a huge hit in the 1970s, with more than 2,600 performances worldwide. “Day by Day” became an international hit, but it’s the prophetic “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” that will raise the hair on your arms.
In the Whidbey Playhouse production the song booms out from the back of the darkened hall, thanks to Petty Officer 1st Class Steve Curran, who plays both John the Baptist and Judas. As John the Baptist he lead the singing group from the back of the hall and onto the stage.
Curran, wearing a red “Make Love Not War” T-shirt, brings considerable acting experience to his dual roles, including productions at the Dillard School for the Performing Arts and Marquette University.
He jokes that he joined the Navy when he realized he was not a good enough waiter to make a living as an actor. His wife, Dawn Curran, is Godspell’s musical director.
One of the highlights of the play is a burlesque version of “Turn Back, O Man,” by Oak Harbor native Dulcey White Lovell. She has performed with Whidbey Playhouse since she was a child, and is obviously very comfortable on stage. She has developed a fine voice over the years, and belts out this tune while teasing the audience with a red feather boa.
Other cast members are Nicole Bouvion, Isaac Johnson, Destiny Kelly, Gwendolyn Oest, Karol White, who is also the choreographer, Kathryn Young, and Charisse Berner. Berner’s daughter Amelia, 7, makes her first Whidbey Playhouse appearance in a cameo role as a marionette.
Charisse Berner is familiar to many as the Oak Harbor School District director of curriculum, but she was a music teacher for 18 years.
Like many of her cast mates, Godspell has special meaning for her. In 1973 she was a featured soloist in a Bellevue Jr. High Choir’s recording of Godspell. While she has been active in music all her life, her last role was as Mary Magdalene in a high school production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
Godspell marks her return to the stage, where she plays guitar and sings a lovely version of “By My Side” with Karol White.
With work and family, the rehearsal schedule has been tough, she said. They have been practicing four times a week, three hours at a stretch since November, and the pace has picked up with opening night approaching.
At dress rehearsal last week there were only a few minor glitches, easily smoothed over by the enthusiasm and professionalism of the actors.
A special treat is the addition of a live band, with Dave Willis on bass, Bruce Hutcherson on drums, Judy Magison on guitar and Dawn Curran on piano.
Go to church on Sunday, but first go to “Godspell.” Both are good for your soul.

“Godspell” opens Friday, Jan. 23, at the Whidbey Playhouse, 730 SE Midway Blvd., and runs Thursday through Sunday until Feb. 14. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14 adults, $10 youth age 4 to 17. No children under 4 please. Saturday, Jan. 24, is Bargain Night, with all tickets $2 off. Groups of 10 or more receive a $1 per ticket discount any night.
