Update:
Well, it is not looking good at all. Sherry and Galen made the decision with the Dr. To stop his intravenous feeding, and the Chemo and just give him the drugs to keep him comfortable. He will be released to Home care tomorrow, and Galen will be there until Sherry can take off work. They say that he will just slowly go to sleep and then die. I went in to see him this afternoon and he looked like death already. He was having labored breathing, but his color was good. His eyes are really dark and sunken too. It won’t be much longer. I am hoping along with Phyllis and others that he goes tonight, in the hospital, so Sherry does not have to deal with that alone at home.
Damn it! This is so hard!! He is only 53!

I have just been catching up here. I am so sorry to read about your brother. I hope his journey is painless and easy. Thinking of you and wishing for the best outcome.
Aw, Mary Lou. 53 is so young. But I hope he has no pain. And that you and your family have strength. Stay close to one another and together you will all be able to handle this. I'll be thinking of you all.
I'm so sorry to read this, Mary Lou. I hope that they can keep Mike free from pain and let him slip away peacefully.
When my dad was being treated for cancer, he signed his own DNR order and it relieved the family from having to make that decision.
I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm so sorry, Mary Lou.
I am so sorry to hear this. I hope his passing is without more suffering and that there will be those on the other side waiting for him to help him across.

Oh Mary Lou! I am so sorry that you, your family, and Sherry has to go through this, not to mention Mike himself. 53 IS too young. We'll keep him in our thoughts and hope for him every bit of peace free from pain as possible.
Everyone will have to be strong. So sorry for this terrible news. Keep together.
Oh, I'm so so sorry. I'm sending lots of thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Mary Lou I'm very sorry to read about your brother.
Sending my prayers that he does not have pain and that your family holds up during this painful time. (((hugs)))
I wish you strength Mary Lou and you know I have given a comment in Mike's CaringBridge guestbook.
I traveled this road with my only sister. I sincerely feel your pain right now and weep for you, your sister and other family members. I am praying the same prayers for your brother that I prayed for my sister...to go peacefully, pain free and to be met on the other side by loved ones who have gone before. May God walk beside each of you and comfort you in all the ways only he knows.
I too have traveled the road you are on, and know what you are going through. Hang on to your family tightly, because you will all get through this together.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
