I'm SOrry

I'm SOrry, But I have an anonomous commenter that is making derogatory remarks, and since I am not smart enough to remember how to delete the comments, I just turned them all off for a while. When the weather clears, I may return them, in the mean time, you know how to reach me.

I will still continue to post, just not allow comments for awhile.

Please keep checking.

It looks like you are back with comments. Too bad that a few can ruin a good thing for the rest of us.

I agree with your previous post about houses. We live in a paid for 1427 sq ft mobile home that we pay space rent monthly for our lot, in a senior mobile park. It isn't glamorous but it works fine for us. And we have enough money to keep the place up.

But I have lost money on stocks and it isn't just a paper loss, as I fairly recently bought what I thought was conservative investments, such as the 119 year old Washington Mutual Bank which has paid increasing dividends every year. Until this year, and it is now bankrupt with my stocks valued at zero. All together, I have lost over $20,000 on total investments of under $50,000. Are they going to bail me out? No, but I will get to pay for bailing out those who have made dumb and maybe illegal purchases of houses that they could not afford.

We sure do need some changes in DC but I am not sure if just changing the head of the government is enough. Maybe we need to sweep out all of those clowns who are currently incumbents.

Ok for some reason I can't comment on the post below about the houses and living above your means. I totally agree. There have been times in me and the Mr's life when we could have afforded a huge house but I never wanted to do it.

For one I'm damn lazy and cleaning something bigger than I need doesn't appeal to me. I've never felt compelled to keep up with the Joneses and if they didn't want to come to my small house well then pooey on them.

Now I'm glad I held firm all those years. My house if paid off in 5 more years, I can sell blood if I have to in order to make my payment and I don't regret it one bit.
