HOT< HOT< HOT!!!!

And HOT again!! It is already 85 out there on the back deck, And the sun just hit it! Whew! Now the weather man is saying that we are going to break historical records for alltime number of days over 90 degrees F. For Western Washington, that is SOMETHING!!! and the hot time has not even hit yet! We usually have a brief hot spell in May, then it rains all of June and then gets nice and dry in July and heats up in August and Sept. But NEVER like this! We have no AC in our houses, because we don't need it! Needless to say we all zone out someplace cool and try to ride this out as comfortably as you can.

We went out to dinner in a restaurant that was in an old victorian home in Coupeville. It was a Thai restaurant. all the windows were painted shut, and the doors were wide open but let me tell you folks, it was HOT in there!! The food was really great, and we will go back, but not until it cools down! It is hard to tell the flavor of your food when you are sweating so much it dilutes your fork before it hits your mouth!

I just came in from finishing painting the back deck. Had to wait for the sun to hit it so it would dry faster, then I painted it, then rushed into the house to wait for it to dry. Sitting here under a fan, drinking an Orange diet soda. As soon as it is dry enough to walk on, I will let the dogs back out for their pottie time, then back in to the house. It is too hot for them out there.

Yesterday I had the BBQ blocking the deck stairs, so Sadie could not get onto it, and she went BALLISTIC!! YAP YAP YAP YAP YAP like there was a threat in the yard. I ran out, and she was barking at the BBQ. I yelled at her to shut up. It is the BBQ!! I MOVED IT! LIVE WITH IT! nope, not having it, so I had to bring her in. It took her two weeks of yapping to get used to the doghouse being in the yard. She is soooo STUPID!

I made sure the bird baths were all full of clean fresh cool water, and now I am going to finish doing some work on the Computer. Then get the Minutes ready for my Board meeting tonight.

WHEW!!!! HOT!!!!!

I just love Thai food. But air conditioning is important.

And I wish our deck was newly stained. It's too hot to do it now.

It's really hot down here too and we don't have a/c. We do have a room a/c unit though which I guess we will have to connect for tonight if we want to sleep. Ack! And my email is on my blog, in case you need it again. I am not sure why but I don't seem to have yours either right now. Mine is rainnn7 at hotmail dot com

I sure don't like this heat! And it's going to get worse before it gets better. Stay cool, Mary Lou, and make sure you stay hydrated too.

It looks like the KING weatherman lied last night. His map showed a high for today at Oak Harbor of only 78. I was envying you as our MV temp was to be 86. Looks like both of those were too low. We'll just have to remember these days next November through February or March. Too bad we can't can & save this excess heat.

It gets hot here too, this year so far so good. Hope you manage to keep cool and drink lots (no, I mean water). In France they advise people to go into the local supermarkets and hang out by the freezers and cold cabinets.

We've been lucky here. So far, not a lot of really hot days. Sometimes we don't make it to 80 degrees. But I think this week might be very rainy and humid.

Stay cool...hopefully your weather will be back to normal soon.

That's just too hot fo me! I think I would even rather have the rain we are having than temperatures in the 80's!

I will gladly trade some rain for some of this hot!

Strangely, here in the panhandle of Florida, near Pensacola, we're having an unusuall COOL July. That doesn't mean we could do without our ever-present air conditioners, but it does mean we can swim in the pool without adding a block of ice to keep it from feeling like a hot tub! :)

I heard about your record heat on the TV weather this morning. Might be a good excuse to get just one window AC that you could put in your bedroom window--at least there would be one cool room in your house (I did this when I lived on the farm and couldn't afford AC for entire house.)
Hope the weather breaks for ya--we have had a cool summer here in MI and I love it!!!

I don't know if this helps or not but if you will drink something that doesn't have caffine in it that will cool you down a lot better. Almost all soda has some caffine in it. I've found I really like those little drink mix packets you can get at Walmart. They come in some great flavors, everything from tea, to cranberry/apple and cherry limeade. I love the cherry limeaid. If you can crush the ice and make like a slushy (or magarita) that's even better! Just thought I'd give you some ideas other than soda. Hope it helps.
Oh yeah, thanks for the rain. We've gotten rain TWICE today. Praise God!

Well, we remain in the triple digits for about the third week in a row. Of course, here everything is A/C day and night. I remember what it was like back home in Minnesota when the temperature rose into the high 80's. Hope you get a break soon.
