SPRING!! AT LAST!!

Not only has the weather been just lousy as hell, and my mental state has been busy with dying brother, but even the flowers are late this year. In The Skagit Valley they have a tulip festival every April, and the Tulips have not opened yet!! Tulips in my yard are just now starting to open. THe plum trees next door are loaded with blossoms finally, and the crab apple tree is getting a tinge of pink...By Now we would have had an explosion of color, But it looks like if the weather holds like it is today, we might have a spring after all.

Yesterday it snowed in some areas...REALLY!!

I have a horrible allergic reaction to the tree pollen, and with spring so late, they are all pollenating at once. NICE!! My grass has grown almost a foot, and my lawn mower just got here yesterday. Now I am waiting for the grass to dry out enough to cut it.

I bought an electric lawnmower. A Neuton! totally electric, with no cord! it is run by a replacable battery that you just pull out and plug into the wall and voila. No gas to buy, no pollutants to fill the air and very little noise! Now let's see if this puppy can cut! (and see if I can push it!)

Oh, I'm so glad you got a new mower, Mary Lou. That should make it so much easier.

The mower sounds great.

Hope your days are going well. This has got to be such a hard time for you and your family.

Spring is running late in east Tennessee also. I'm still using my heat and sleeping under blankets. Good luck with the new mower. I've had to hire someone to cut my grass. Can't do it anymore because of my back problems.

That lawn mower sounds just right, no cords to get tangled in or get mown.

I keep reading about the weather in the pacific northwest. It hasn't been a very bright spring yet. I hope the warmth and brightness finally takes hold, and this long winter will recede. Enjoy your new mower.

I have an electric mower that I like but it does have a cord. Of course my lawn is only something like 20 by 35 feet.

The local radio is saying the tulips should hold until Mother's Day. Last year they extended the Tulip Festival to the weekend after the end of the month and I'd guess they will go even longer this year. This weekend is the downtown street fair and the weather should be pretty good for it, at least on Sat & Sun.

Sounds like a good time to stay AWAY from Mt. V huh Dick?

If you have a hard time pushing it Mary Lou, perhaps you should get one with a power drive. Then you'd have to hold it back and it would look like you had a cockleburr between your cheeks. The voice of experience here! ;-)

I got a new mower this year too. His name is Don. I had a heck of a time the last two years with back/hip/leg problems so this year I hired the guy that mows most of the lawns around here. Spring is late in Michigan too. Just a few daffodils out and no tulips as yet.

Hope everything is fine with you.

I know you have been going through the worst of times and I am so sorry to hear about your brother's death.

I am glad that Spring is here for you with all its promises of renewal. Take care, my friend, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
