Kat's DRAWERINGS

Right after AI started Blogging in 2002, I mat Kat...also known as SPECIAL K. Her blog was very advante Garde, but I loved it. She was not afraid to tell it like it was...and in very graphic terms. She even warned MAMASITA not to read on, as it would embarass her mom. As we all got to know her, and follow her through her life, she started using windows PAINT to draw with and illustrate her blog. Below are just a few, and they are PRICELESS. She was so talented. She could write, she could draw, she was so smart. Even her English Teacher from High School ELLEN said that she was a genius with words. Unfortunately, she did not live long enough to realize how talented she was. She died Yesterday at the age of 39, of Lymphoma I believe, and she will be missed GREATLY!!!

FOr those of you who knew her, take a trip down memory lane. FOr those of you who DIDn't know her. you really missed someone special!

I met Kat in late 2001 or early 2002 in Yahoo trivia. They had a chat thingy where you could chat as you played and we'd natter back and forth. We clicked and I couldn't have loved her more if I'd given birth to her. If she loved you, she loved you all the way. She was that kind of girl.

Her Yahoo id was pizdaobrijana, I still snicker every time I remember her telling me that translation of her id.

That's sad. I didn't know her but hate to hear anyone dies so young and even more so when they are contributing to the world.

Ah, those drawerings, how I loved them and the stories that went with them! I think she could have written a book or two with the great stories she told about life in her apartment, with her nutty neighbors, and the transit rides, and her wry wit in observing the goings on around her.

Kim, You are so right! I asked and asked her to write a kids book and illustrate it with her Drawerings, and she did not think it would sell. I KNOW it would have! I even offered to help her get it published, but she would not. SO SAD!

I remember when she started those drawerings and had that drawering contest. I ache that she's gone and that her blog is gone forever. She was immensely special, that one.

Oh Mary Lou you made me cry all over again. I am shattered at the moment. I am going to miss her. We played scrabble in facebook - and with her command of the English language, she always beat me handsdown. She was an extraordinary woman and I loved her like a much younger sister. I am going to miss her dreadfully. Thanks for sharing her drawerings.

Yeah everyone will miss her. It is a real shame she did not see what we saw in her.

I didn't know her, though I'd heard of her name. What wonderful drawings. Such sad news.

Those were the days my friend. I will miss her like crazy. Thanks for putting up the drawerings, I had forgot a lot of them.

I sent you my email address btw.

I found the funeral announcement in facebook yesterday, but I can't find it today??

No I won't be going to the funeral, it would cost me around a grand with airfare and hotel. I just don't have that now that I am not employed. I'm hoping her parents will have a memorial in Winnipeg I can attend.

I didn't know her but she sounds like quite a lady. It is so sad when someone dies way too soon. But it sounds like she will be remembered by many friends whose lives she has had an impact on.
